Hello there! I'm Sabarina. To those whom I'm close to, I'm known as 'Sabby'. I'm a 20-something year old girl from Singapore who's gone down the long and winding road of the education system in her country. For one, I'm a diploma graduate in Media & Communication. I could have chosen to secure a job in the media industry and be happy with my job, but I realised it wasn't what I wanted. So I changed course, albeit hoping that my media and communication skills would still come in handy somewhere else. I'm currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. In other words, I'm a trainee teacher on the road to becoming a qualified one. So far, I'm loving what I'm doing. Some people know me as an 'artiste' or a 'singer' but I have long left that world so I would consider myself an 'ex' for that matter.

I run Rise to the Occasion, a space where I chronicle the happenings in my life, daily ramblings and pointless babbling – mostly tidbits about my personal life, relationship, family, school, work and favourites. In 2004, in the grand scheme of chaos which was my life, I decided to dip my toes into the world of blogging, which quickly became my pastime. I am formerly an author of requestshow.blogspot.com, which no longer exists.

I love to blog because blogging soothes my nerves, soul and mind. Truth be told, I'm not a vocally expressive person. As writing allows me to express myself more openly, I choose to think that I do myself justice by writing out what I feel. While I do not mind ranting aloud about random things, I seldom discuss my true feelings about sensitive issues, although I can write about them for hours. I do have pretty deep thoughts, probably the deepest out there, but I shall keep them to myself because it's too personal. Regardless, having this site is like having my own little piece of world to share with everyone who cares to read and learn a thing or two.

I get overexcited over minimal things. I smile a lot, love to laugh, and love to make other people laugh (with my lame jokes). Nonetheless, until I get to know you, I am rather shy. In a nutshell, I'm quite a goofball, a worrywart, an internet junkie, a clutterphobic, a hopeless romantic, a working bee, a pink freak, a sugar and junk food addict, a professional procrastinator, and sometimes a bit of a perfectionist. I love to read and write. I try to read a book when I get a chance to do so, and on some occasions, compose poems and song lyrics other than blogging. I also love to shop, sing, doll up, watch movies, listen to music, hunt for food, walk on the beach, take photos, hang out with friends, and do anything else that will keep me busy during my free time. I'm attached to and absolutely in love with my fiance, Sufiyan, whom I affectionately call 'Kokonan' in my entries. I'm the very first child of very caring and understanding parents, and the eldest sibling of five other beautiful siblings. I am a friend to anyone who wants or needs to have one.

So, this is my life, out loud, in words and pictures. I am an open book.
